The Omnibus Show is a Podcast started by Dave Gibbs. Gibbs started out, after graduating from Indiana University, as a journalist
and photographer; he worked all over Indiana, the Pacific Northwest, and the Chicago area. His late father, John, was the Executive Producer
for City Desk, at WMAQ-TV (NBC) Chicago, which was a decades long interview show between top reporters and celebrities, people, and
politicians with ties to Chicago.
Gibbs started out, after graduating from Indiana University, as a journalist and photographer; he worked all over Indiana, the Pacific Northwest,
and the Chicago area. His late father, John, was the Executive Producer for City Desk, at WMAQ-TV (NBC) Chicago, which was a decades long

“Most people are very busy with their lives. And, while there are many popular podcast programs that go up to two and three hours, most people
only have time for short bits of media. They want substantive content.
The purpose of this show is to get a brief story of the guest, to learn from the wisdom of their experience, and to learn what’s next for them.”

The Omnibus Show E049 Andrea Melani and the Art of Italian Cuisine: Convivio and Caffè Buondì
Carmel, IN – April 8, 2024 – This week, The Omnibus Show welcomes Andrea Melani, owner of Convivio Italian Artisan Cuisine and Caffè Buondì. He is an experienced Entrepreneur with a demonstrated history of working in the restaurant industry both at a corporate level and as an independent owner. He is skilled in Concept Creation, Business Development, Culinary expertise, Operations, and New Restaurant Openings.
Melani was born and raised in Riomaggiore, Italy. His experience in restaurants began in the late 1980s working in his family restaurant in the touristy area of Cinque Terre, located in the Italian Riviera on the northern coast of Italy. His family restaurant was the Vecchio Rio.
As the son of a chef and maître d’, he became a restaurant professional at a very young age. Serving tourists from all over the world, he learned that food brings people together. He developed a passion not only for food but also for hospitality. In 1998, he left Italy to pursue a career in the United States.
Melani is a devoted restauranteur with the strength of building relationships with guests, vendors, and staff. During the past 22 years in Indianapolis, Andrea has operated as a manager for Bertolini's, Morton’s and Bravo Italian Kitchen. In 2016, Melani co-founded, with colleague Emilio Cento, parent company Spiga LLC. Convivio Italian Artisan Cuisine was his first entrepreneurial endeavor, which turned out to be an immediate success.
Within a span of two years and a half, Spiga LLC opened a second Convivio and Caffè Buondì. Meeting and exceeding the guests' expectations has consistently been Melani’s standard of operation.
